The Umbro Grêmio 2024 Away Shirt roots itself in something deeper than football: the gaucho culture of Rio Grande do Sul, where chimarrão, the bitter yerba mate shared between friends, is a daily ritual as sacred as the game itself. White with blue and black accents, the shirt carries sublimated graphics drawn from the mate leaf across the collar and cuffs, with two commemorative stamps, one on the hem depicting campo, mate and sol, and another at the back of the neck bearing the word "Imortal." A front hem badge honours Grêmio's 1989 Copa do Brasil title, grounding the cultural story in silverware. The season itself was a fight, with the Tricolor finishing 14th in Série A and exiting the Copa Libertadores at the round of 16 to Fluminense, though Danish striker Martin Braithwaite, arriving mid-season, scored 5 goals in his first 8 Brasileirão appearances to help steer the club clear of danger.
