The first green Germany away shirt since Euro 2012, it draws its colour and spirit from the early 1990s , paying direct tribute to the iconic green kit worn when West Germany's green away kit seared itself into memory with their epic shoot-out victory over England in the semifinal of the world's biggest tournament. A graphic pattern inspired by the late 1980s and early 1990s covers the front and sleeves, giving the shirt an unmistakable retro pulse beneath a thoroughly modern construction. Germany arrived in Russia having compiled the best-ever World Cup qualifying campaign by a European team, winning all 10 of their games, with Toni Kroos setting the strategic tone and Thomas Müller having scored five goals and made seven others in qualifying.
