The Nike Aston Villa 2007/08 Home Shirt marked the start of a new era at Villa Park, as Nike took over from hummel in a £25 million, five-year deal that generated record pre-order demand before a single design had even been revealed. The shirt itself delivered: a clean claret body with bold sky blue sleeves and a white v-neck collar, carrying a redesigned crest that added a star above the lion rampant to honour the club's 1982 European Cup triumph. Up front, John Carew led the line with 13 goals to finish as Villa's top scorer, partnered by the electric Gabriel Agbonlahor, who made all 38 league appearances and chipped in with 9 goals under Martin O'Neill.
