Purple was the colour of an extraordinary season. The Nike Manchester City 2018/19 Third Shirt arrived carrying the sash, a design last seen on a City kit in 2010/11, redrawn here in bold orange across a night purple base, with a subtle all-over graphic drawn from an aerial view of industrial east Manchester and the Etihad Stadium itself. Not only does the sash return for the first time since the 2010/11 campaign, the pattern is inspired by an aerial representation of industrial east Manchester, with the Etihad Stadium visible within it. The shirt accompanied the most complete domestic season in English football history: City won all four major domestic trophies in a single campaign, the first time any team had ever held them simultaneously. Sergio Aguero led the attack with 32 goals from 46 appearances, while Raheem Sterling scored a brace in the 6-0 FA Cup final demolition of Watford that completed the historic clean sweep.
