The adidas Orlando Pirates 2021/22 Home Shirt accompanied the Buccaneers on the most dramatic continental run in a generation, all the way to the CAF Confederation Cup final. All black, as the Buccaneers always are at home, the design reintroduces the traditional club crest after the previous season's skull and crossbones badge, while an embossed skull and crossbones graphic across the chest front keeps the pirate identity unmistakably present. White adidas Three Stripes run across the shoulders and red piping trims the cuffs, a flash of colour that cuts through the darkness. Thembinkosi Lorch carried the attack to the final in Uyo, scoring deep into extra time to level at 1-1, before the heartbreak of the penalty shootout ended the Buccaneers' dream at 5-4 to RS Berkane. A shirt that went to the edge of African football glory and came agonisingly close.
