1. FSV Mainz 05

1. FSV Mainz 05 has had a bigger impact on modern European football than many people think. Founded in 1905, the club's story and success are closely tied to influential football minds and unconventional coaching choices.

Starting with the forward-thinking Wolfgang Frank, the club's appointment of now legendary coach Jürgen Klopp, who was still a player at the time, proved to be a crucial decision. Under Klopp, Mainz 05 got promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2004. Although the club could not avoid relegation in 2007 and a year later saw Klopp depart for Borussia Dortmund, the foundation for future success was laid.

Mainz returned to the Bundesliga in 2009 and hired Thomas Tuchel, giving him his first opportunity to coach in the professional ranks. Under Tuchel, the club further cemented itself as a respectable Bundesliga side before he left to join Dortmund to succeed Jürgen Klopp.

Thanks in large part to influential coaches, Mainz 05 has remained in the Bundesliga for more than 15 years and is known for its strong youth program, which has produced players such as André Schürrle and Jonathan Burkardt.

JAKO

JAKO's founding date is not a coincidence — it is part of the story. On 9 November 1989, the day the Berlin Wall fell and a nation held its breath, Rudi Sprügel registered his sportswear company in a garage in Stachenhausen, a small town in the Hohenlohe region of Baden-Württemberg. His idea was straightforward: outfit every club between the Jagst and Kocher rivers fast and reliably. The name JAKO came from those two rivers. The philosophy has never changed. Today, over 250,000 teams in more than 50 countries trust JAKO to do exactly that — from Sunday league sides to Bundesliga professionals.
