Iraq

Iraq’s national team is often called the Lions of Mesopotamia and they have a history that proves how football can truly unite a nation. Their absolute peak came in 2007 when they won the AFC Asian Cup against all odds. That victory brought the whole country together in a way few things could and it remains one of the greatest stories in sports history. Before that they also made it to the World Cup in 1986 which was a massive achievement for the region.

Iraq has some really intense rivalries especially with Kuwait and Iran. These matches are always huge events for the fans and are filled with high stakes. When you think of legendary players Ahmed Radhi stands out for scoring their only World Cup goal. Younis Mahmoud is also a massive hero because he scored the winning header in that 2007 final. The team is known for having incredibly resilient players who never back down from a challenge.

An Iraq football shirt usually comes in a sharp green or white and it is a powerful symbol of courage for anyone who wears it.

JAKO

JAKO's founding date is not a coincidence — it is part of the story. On 9 November 1989, the day the Berlin Wall fell and a nation held its breath, Rudi Sprügel registered his sportswear company in a garage in Stachenhausen, a small town in the Hohenlohe region of Baden-Württemberg. His idea was straightforward: outfit every club between the Jagst and Kocher rivers fast and reliably. The name JAKO came from those two rivers. The philosophy has never changed. Today, over 250,000 teams in more than 50 countries trust JAKO to do exactly that — from Sunday league sides to Bundesliga professionals.
