It pays tribute to the kit worn during the unforgettable Second Division Play-Off Final against Gillingham on 30 May 1999, marking the 25th anniversary of that dramatic comeback victory. Facing a two-goal deficit, City mounted an incredible comeback, with Paul Dickov's dramatic 95th-minute equaliser forcing extra time, before the team's determination led to a victorious penalty shootout and promotion. The navy base is cut through with neon yellow stripes featuring light blue pinstripe detailing, and completed with a polo collar and sleeve cuffs in the same yellow and blue. A back-neck sign-off commemorates that most special of days.

The shirt accompanied a season in which Rodri became the first Manchester City player to be awarded the Ballon d'Or, recognised as the best player in the world for his contribution in 2023/24. Erling Haaland, meanwhile, reached 85 Premier League goals in his first three seasons at the club, netting a goal every 95 minutes on average.
