The Nike Atlético Madrid 2021/22 Third Shirt carries the memory of a stadium that shaped a club's identity. Inspired by the iconic Vicente Calderón, the design uses a royal blue base with white and red detailing on the collar, side panels and sleeve cuffs, replicating the colours of the stadium's seats. An image of the Calderón itself is printed inside the collar, a quiet tribute to the ground that was home for over 50 years. Released as Atlético celebrated the 75th anniversary of their current name, Club Atlético de Madrid, the shirt was part of a season-long homage to the club's history. Antoine Griezmann returned to the Metropolitano on loan from Barcelona and wore this shirt as Atlético reached the Champions League quarter-finals , before being eliminated by Manchester City. Manchester City won on aggregate over two legs to advance to the semi-finals.
