Eligible participants are natural persons who:

  • are at least 14 years of age (minimum age),
  • reside in any country worldwide. Participation is generally open internationally. However, no entitlement to a physical prize exists if delivery to the winner’s stated address is not possible for legal, logistical, or other reasons. In such cases, the organiser may, at its sole discretion, offer store credit at footballshirts.com as an alternative; no legal entitlement to such an alternative exists,
  • have registered on the Kicktipp platform using the prediction game link.

Participants aged 14 to 17 may take part only with the express consent of their parent or legal guardian. The organiser may request evidence of such consent.

Employees of Football Shirts Retail GmbH and their family members are excluded from participation. The organiser reserves the right to exclude individuals from participation if there is a reasonable suspicion of manipulation or misuse. Only one account per person is permitted.

§ 4 Participation Period

Participation in the prediction game is possible from 24 May 2026. The prediction game ends with the World Cup Final; the settlement period ends on 19 August 2026.

New participants may join even after the World Cup kicks off on 11 June 2026 at 9:00 PM (UTC +2). No predictions can be submitted for matches that took place before registration. The extended period after the Final is intended to allow participants to review the final standings and for the organiser to determine and announce all winners.

§ 5 How to Participate

Participation takes place exclusively via the organiser’s official Kicktipp prediction game:

https://www.kicktipp.com/footballshirtscom-wc2026/

(and all other Kicktipp domains under the path /footballshirtscom-wc2026)

Registration on the Kicktipp platform is required to participate. Use of the Kicktipp platform is subject to Kicktipp’s own terms of use. Participation in the prediction game is free of charge.

§ 6 Winner Determination

Overall Winner

The overall winner is determined by the total points scored under the Kicktipp points system. The points system stored in the prediction game at the time of each prediction submission shall apply. In the event of a tie, the following criteria apply in the order listed:

  1. More matchday victories
  2. More correctly answered bonus questions on Kicktipp
  3. More exact score predictions
  4. More correctly predicted outcomes (win/draw/loss)
  5. Draw by lot among tied participants

Matchday and Promotional Prizes

Promotional prizes are determined by draw among the eligible participants. The matchday prize goes to the participant with the highest points total for the relevant matchday. In the event of a tie, the winner is determined by draw.

§ 7 Announcement of Winners

The overall standings are viewable in the Kicktipp overview after the prediction game concludes. The organiser will also announce the winners of the prediction game using only the Kicktipp display name (username). A winner’s legal name will only be published with their prior express consent. The same applies to matchday winners and winners of other promotions. No legal right to announcement in any particular form exists.

§ 8 Winner Notification

Winners will be notified via the contact option stored on Kicktipp (Kicktipp message, profile contact, or, where accessible, the stored email address). If none of the above contact options are available, the organiser may use a separate contact form. Winners have five (5) days from the date the notification is sent to respond to the organiser.

If a winner does not respond within the deadline:

  • For placed prizes (1st–3rd place): the prize passes to the next-placed participant.
  • For drawn prizes: a new draw is held among the remaining eligible participants.

The organiser accepts no liability for undelivered notifications or messages that land in a spam folder.

§ 9 Data Protection (GDPR)

The organiser processes participants’ personal data (in particular name and email address) exclusively for the purpose of running and administering the competition. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract / pre-contractual measures).

Data will be deleted once it is no longer required for the administration of the competition, and at the latest, 3 months after the competition concludes, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

Participants have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). Requests should be directed to the contact address listed in the organiser’s legal notice.

Kicktipp acts as an independent controller within the meaning of the GDPR and collects its own data upon registration on its platform. The organiser has no direct access to data collected by Kicktipp; Kicktipp’s processing is governed by its own privacy policy (available at www.kicktipp.de). The organiser processes only data that participants submit directly to it in connection with prize fulfilment. No transfer of this data to third parties takes place. Objecting to the processing of data required for the administration of the competition may result in it no longer being possible to continue participating or to fulfil a prize.

The competent supervisory authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Bremen (LfDI Bremen).

Where participants have given separate and express consent to the use of their data for marketing purposes, their name and email address may be used to send newsletters, product offers, or information about future promotions by Football Shirts Retail GmbH. Consent is obtained via a double opt-in process and is entirely voluntary; it is independent of participation in the competition. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without giving reasons, e.g. by email to the organiser or via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter, without any disadvantage to ongoing prize processing. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

§ 10 Shipping Terms

Physical prizes will be shipped by the organiser at the organiser’s expense. Any customs duties, import taxes, levies, or other official charges incurred in connection with the shipment are to be borne by the winner. The organiser accepts no liability for delays caused by customs clearance, official inspections, or other circumstances outside its control. The winner is required to provide a complete and accurate delivery address; the organiser accepts no liability for losses or damage resulting from incorrect address information. If a prize cannot be delivered to the winner’s stated address due to import restrictions, customs regulations, or other legal obstacles, the entitlement to the prize lapses without any substitute payment.

§ 11 Limitation of Liability

The organiser accepts no liability for technical faults, server outages, transmission errors, or other technical defects affecting the Kicktipp platform that result in data loss, unrecorded predictions, or other impairments. Equally, the organiser accepts no liability for damages arising from participation in the prediction game, unless caused by the organiser’s intentional misconduct or gross negligence. In the event of a breach of material contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), the organiser shall also be liable for slight negligence, but limited to foreseeable, contract-typical damage. Liability for damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health, as well as liability under the German Product Liability Act, remains unaffected in all cases. It is recommended that this clause be reviewed by a legal professional.

§ 12 Tax Notes

Winners are solely responsible for reviewing and fulfilling any tax obligations arising from receipt of a prize. This applies in particular to income tax, gift tax, or customs duties that may be applicable depending on the winner’s country of residence. The organiser will not cover any taxes or charges on behalf of the winner and accepts no liability for tax consequences arising from the award of a prize. Winners are encouraged to seek independent tax advice if required.

§ 13 Right to Amend

The organiser reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions for good cause and to the extent reasonable for participants, in particular in the event of changes to the World Cup format, schedule changes, match cancellations, or technical changes to the Kicktipp platform. Amendments will be communicated to participants in a timely manner within the prediction game on Kicktipp. Continued participation following such communication constitutes acceptance of the amended terms. Should the tournament be cancelled in its entirety, the organiser shall, at its reasonable discretion, decide how already announced prizes are to be awarded.

§ 14 Miscellaneous

  • Legal recourse is excluded.
  • The organiser reserves the right to suspend or terminate the competition early for good cause, in particular in the event of technical faults, suspected manipulation, or force majeure. In such cases, the organiser shall decide at its reasonable discretion how already announced prizes are to be awarded.
  • The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany apply.
  • Should any individual provision of these terms and conditions be invalid, the remaining provisions shall not be affected.
